engine light

I have had my engine light coming on for bout 6 months now and its getting progressivly worst,wierd thing is that it only comes on at about 1500 rpm and up anything below that and it wont come on,but all it does is blink and not in any order either.the car runs fine no problems i also hooked it up to an OTC computer and there were no stored codes was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or any idea's thanks guys

can't you hook up a scan computer and drive the car and get codes while driving?

it comes on even if car is sitting still and i take the rpm up to 1500 ,still no stored codes

mine does something like that....just random

was told by the previous owner that the owner before him installed a chip and that is why, but i have no clue

The CEL does not have to be illuminated to store the code, and spit it out upon retrieval (that is one reason you have a KAM). Codes can even be stored that never meet the criteria to trigger the CEL.

I would try pulling the codes again or change your method.

A chip will often trigger a processor failure code, but the puter should still toss its codes out.
