I recently let my friend borrow my car and she filled the tank with the cheap gas. I usually run the Plus (the in-between gas).
It pings continiously .... could it have been the gas or is something else going on ? I didn't notice it before ....

The cars are programmed to run off of 87 octane. So eventhough you normally put 89 in it, it wouldn't hurt the car if 87 was put in it. If it was watered down gas, that's a whole other story

It still pinged abit ... so I went under the hood to get ready to change the plugs and found the tube that connects to the throttle body for the CAI had come loose and buckled up so air was coming from the bottom of the air intake. Took it off and put the original back and it no longer pings .....

If your car pings on 87 and you don't have any engine mods, something is wrong...
