Could anyone point me to a nice how-to or article about pulling the stock 5.0 engine out of a 1990 Mustang?

I am in the process of doing it right now, I have disconnected all the electrical and taken the upper intake manifold aswell as my supercharger off.

I plan on pulling the engine + tranny at the same time using one of those plates that bolt to the lower intake manifold.

I think all thats left for me to do is to discharge the AC, which I have no idea how to, dump the oil, dump the coolant and disconnect the fuel lines.

Then I just have to unbolt the driveshaft, tranny and engine and pull it out.

This is my first time ever attempting to do something like this, so I would like to make sure I am doing it right.

Thank you.

Thank you for your help.

Hopefully I should have it out within the week.

Is there any special tool or fittings that I should know about other than needed a snap lock disconnecter for the fuel lines?

Well not sure how familiar you are with the mustang's electrical connections, bolts etc. so one thing that I would recommend is that you put a piece of masking tape on each connector and label them as well as put the bolts in seperate containers and label them. It'll make your life a heck of a lot easier puttin a motor back in especially if it's gonna be sometime before it goes back in........

+1 Good advice, it seems so simple when you are taking it apart.

Thanks, the masking tape metho will work really well.

I have only taken a few electrical things off so far but all the major stuff hasn't been touched, this should make my life easier.

it's extremely straight forward man. just do like said above and label everything. once you jump into it, you'll realize it's a breeze.
