So im planning on rebuilding my 89 5.0 HO and for some reason im having a hard time finding a rebuild kit. I found one on ebay but im worried that it might be low quality. Please let me know what you think of the kit i found or post a link to a quality rebuild kit.

Check out this link to Summit.

5.0L/302 - 1989 - FORD - Engine Rebuild Kits - SummitRacing.com

You need to determine what your current bottom end looks like now. Do you need an overbore, which means new pistons? Does the crank need to be turned? The kits in the link are all for 1989 5.0 engines, just narrow down your selection based on what you need.

Good luck with it!

Man, with what stoker kits are going for now a days, I'd have a hard time dropping $300-$350 on a standard piston only rebuild kit when you could buy a 331/347 stroker rotating assembly complete for $500-$600 more.

He's right...but, depending on budget, the rebuild kit comes with all the gaskets from oil pan to intake and includes an oilpump. Just depends on how much extra you can shell out.

When I was looking at a rebuild, I needed an overbore, crank turned, and my rod ends were warped, so new rods. The stroker kit was much more economical in my situation. Just look at all options, but for a simple re-ring, the summit kits are hard to beat.

Alright cool! I might go the stroker route because i believe i bent a rod by getting water in the intake. I dont know for sure because i havent pulled the motor but i know its seized. What do you guys recommend for stroker kits? I have almost no knowledge of them. haha

I can't figure out how I could go wrong with one of these.

That's a pretty nice small block - from HI racing - man when I think of all the $$ I dumped into my 351w .....seems like an awesome deal -.....by piecing it together I'm at $4k and I still need a intake manifold / carb and distrub....plus exhaust etc.....damn it
