engine rebuild

How about the cost of tuning the EEC for the extra 45ci of the 347?
A 347ci will not run nicely with programming designed around 302ci.

With a 306 you could probably get by with the stock programming of the EEC.

The 347 is usually a 3.40" stroker crank with a 4.03" diameter piston.
I've also seen a 347 that is a 3.25" stroker crank and 4.155" diameter piston.
The 4.155" bore would require an aftermarket block though.

Just my $0.02.

The 347 will run just fine with the stock EEC, many local guys are doing it no problem. "Technically" no stroker kit is a 347, its a 342 with a STD piston, 346 with a .030 piston and a 348 with a .040 piston

It really sounds like you need to do some reading and figure out your goal for what you want the car to do. Your engine and everything else is going to revolve around that.

studs are good for high CR or high boost but keep in mind if you plan on getting better heads later on i dont think you can swap the heads in the car with studs unless you remove the studs also. i would say some good arp hardware will work just fine but they are $$$ what's your budget for the motor? we can tell you all sorts of ideas but some may be to much and others may be falling short of what you can get.

^ x2. It seems everyday people post up asking "what will this do?" The best thing you can do is read what other people have done and see what worked and what didn't. The builds thread at the top of the forum is the best place to start.

budget isnt really a problem bcos i already know its gonna take time and not happen over night, and i wanna do it right the first time. but saving money on parts is a plus.

Figure out what you want first and then come up with cost savings.

If the car is a daily and a grocery getter I still see no point in a stroker. If you are planning for any track time figure out what rpm range you will spend the most time in and what your hp goals are then ask an engine related question. Sounds like you are just asking questions about combos that may or may not work well for you. When I toss thousands of dollars at something a "maybe" isn't good enough.

its gonna be a weekend and track car. 400 to 500hp sounds about right for me. i know what i want out of it, just having a hard time choosing between a 306, 331, or 347.
