hi everyone
I'm brand new to the forum and I already have a question . . .

I was driving my '67 the other night and it stalled at an intersection. I just started it up and made it most of the way home before my real problem showed itself. It stalls unless my foot is on the accelerator.

I thought it could be a problem with my distributor cap, but I took it off and don't see any cracks or anything - anyone have any troubleshooting ideas for me?? please?!?

First thing I would try is change your fuel filters. Some more details like auto or manual trans, stock or aftermarket ignition can be helpful. Any recent changes under hood?

Thanks RustyNut

Pretty much everything has been kept stock. Automatic transmission, inline-6 - nothing really has been done under the hood recently except I got a new battery and starter relay solenoid . . .
actually that was the same day that this started - you don't think there's any connection between this and the battery do you?

Funny how we fix one thing and another problem crops up. I would change fuel filter first. Cheap and easy and is a real easy to not do regularly. Ever buy a can of gas and look in the bottom and see all the garbage floating around? If your car isn't getting full voltage may be a problem. I would check the things that you just changed and make sure it got hooked right and tight. I often find the altenator and or the voltage regulator is what caused my battery to die or make me think the solenoid was bad. Pop in a new battery and seems all your problems solved, until the voltage starts dropping. IMHO I would start here before changing carb settings or doing any other stuff. I always look for the simple stuff first. Like vacuum leaks, loose crusty grounds, sticking chokes, etc.
