TODAY I DROVE CAR AFTER ENGINE BREAK IN TO PARTS STORE AND ON THE WAY HOME IT STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND WOULD NOT IDLE I CHECKED TIMMING ITS STILL THE SAME IT DIDNT OVERHEAT WHAT AM I MISSING HERE? 69 351 WITH TRICK FLOW HEADS AND COMP ROLLER CAM CONVERSION KIT
 
Check the specs on your fuel filter to see how fine the particles (microns) it filters. If it doesn't filter fine enough you could have gotten a tiny particle of crap in some small passage of your carb. Posting more details about your setup, carb, fuel pump, what has been done to car, how long it's been sitting, etc, etc, will help us help you. Either way, I suspect trash in your carb.

THANK GUYS I WILL CHECK FOR VACCUM LEAKS AND RETORQUE INTAKE AND REMOVE CARB AND CLEAN IT OUT AND REPOST RESULTS TONIGHT 351 .030 BORE STOCK STROKE 650 HOLLY SINGLE PUMPER COMP RETRO FIT ROLLER CAM RPM INTAKE PORTMATCHED TO TRICK FLOW HEADS KEITH BLACK PISTONS WITH FACTORY 69 HEADS MACHINE SHOP FIGURED 10.2.1 COMPRESSION BEFORE SWAPPING TO TRICKFLOW HEADS

HERES WHAT I DID REPLACED SPARK PLUGS CHECKED FOR VAC LEAKS WITH WD 40 AND CHECKED ALL HOSES WHAT I FOUND WRONG WAS A GUMMED FOLAT BOWLS . I CLEANED CARB NOW ENGINE RUNS UNTIL CHOKE OPENS THEN DIES COULD PROBLEM STILL BE IN CARBURATOR?
 
THIS IS AN UPDATE FROM A POST ON 10/22/11 ABOUT ENGINE STALLING THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE CARBURATOR AND MECHANICAL ADVANCE ON MSD DISTRIBUTOR. THE CARBURATOR WAS GUMMED FRO BAD GAS IN TANK, FLUSHED AND CLEANED TANK AND WRONG SPRINGS IN DISTRIBUTOR CAUSING NEAR FULL ADVANCE AT LOW RPM.
