Engines Direct?

Yeah I dont know if I would go that route if I were in your position... The warranty is nice, but then again a company can get out of honoring it easily enough and I just dont know how reputable they are... I am leary of any standard rebuilt motor, the quality control generally sucks with any mass engine rebuilding company like that. I mean I might go that route for a Taurus motor but not a Mustang. I would look at VT Engines I hear good things. Or consider a low mileage used motor...

How much would a long block from Ford go for? Too bad your Dad wont go for a used motor, I recently saw a low mileage Bullitt motor go for just under a grand on Ebay... The best benefit of going this route is that you can get a complete motor from intake to the pan. You could easily do the swap in a weekend... However, I know how Fathers can be...if they are againist something it will take an act of god to change their mind.

yeah, he said if your going to do it just get a new one, so i told him that the things i wanted to do to my 96 gt motor, it would be a new motor but he doesnt care. so i am talkin him into gettin me an 02 gt motor reman from engines direct like i showed in the link above and just leave it stock for a while cept ima get some headers and x-pipes then it will stay like that for a WHILE. i might even build my 96 on the side and then just take the heads off the 99 for the PI swap but thats YEARS from now

ive found a couple LOW mileage motors but warrenty is a BIG DEAL with this, my dad wants something with a warrenty but its funny because all of them say that if you mod the motor or the car *lowering springs can even affect this* the warrenty is invalid. so basically if you buy this motor and put it in a lowered mustang the warrenty is gone the second you drop it in.... GAY!
