And I put a breather on the pcv valve too...... should I reattach it to the plenum? I just don't want any boost issues till I get the bugs worked out.

I need a better boost gauge.... are the Bosch gauges from advanced any good?

OK cool. I put a breather on it like I did on the valve cover.

Interesting I stopped getting updates on your thread.

I installed aftermarket aluminum heads and ended up with 6.100" pushrods as well. Nice job building your own pushrod checking tool! I ended up buying a nice one from comp-cams, every full turn = .050" adjustment. Cost was like 15-20 I think. So there ya go, yours was practicly free

I purchased taller valve covers to clear the new valve train and I kept the oil filler tube with vent nipple. I reroute this vent to my air box instead of the TB. TB gets plugged. This allows me to keep the PCV valve.

Without the oil filler most guys plug the PCV and install breathers on the valve covers and still plug the TB.

Are you taking it in for a tune soon?

Tune no, fmu for now with my Lmaf and 30lbers. I will be doing a megasquirt system for this setup I have the go ahead to purchase it. but it's so close to the wedding, I have plans for a nice honeymoon so the fundage isn't there right now.

I love how squared away this is being a shade-tree, wrench turning experiment.

Ding ding ding!
OK now I have a question....
What's the easiest way to overdrive this thing? I already have a 15% pulley on the charger......
Not really getting promising boost# maybe the intercooler has something to do with it.......
I saw 3? Maybe # today in 3rd from 2500-4500..... above that looks like nada.
Could just be the gauge I have its a cheapie sun pro and the 0 is skewed..... hmm maybe I will get one from the auto parts store and try that.?????
Also runs hot! 190-210 hot.....
Need to recheck timing I have not touched it yet, also idles high 1000 to 1200 range. will reset it and see.

The easy way to overdrive it would be to get an oversize crank pulley from ASP (if they still make them).

Beyond that, pure luck that you can find one out in the wild someplace.

Either way, your feet will leave the ground just a tiny bit as you fail to compensate for the lack of wallet wait.

The hard way will be to have one made. It also provides the gravity relief and has the extra added bonus of being aggravating.

Maybe someone has a better, more recent, less blood pressure solution. It's been over a minute since I'd researched it last.

I know it's moving air.. I pulled the plug on the tb nipple and to my surprise it was blowing air out! Quite a bit of it, so at idle it is at the very least feeding her plenty of air. The charger get very loud when you slam the throttle shut as the bypass opens. She needs more rpm at the blower, I shall Google the shiz out of it sir!!!
Solutions to the issue will come..... give me time. Maybe a 351 pulley redrilled? We shall see.

No one makes one, I can get a vortec one but I'm not re-engenering this whole thing!!!
Let's get a list of interchangeable parts!
Can I drill and shim a sbc pulley?
Bbf pulley? (From 90s serp setup)
Will a 2.3 pulley do anything?
Help!!!!! I want more go!

Do you know what the efficiency range of the blower is and what it's spinning at with the current pullies?

Spinning it over it's max will not net you more power. Instead, it will just super heat the discharge air. It has to operate within its efficiency range. There's no "20% more spin = 20% more boost". You can even lose power by spinning the blower outside of its efficiency range.

What's more is that you also get to a point (because it's a positive displacement super charger) where the engine is capable of aspirating at RPM, more air than the displacement of the supercharger can supply at each revolution.

It's not like a centri blower where the boost effect is the product of speeding up air flow.

If your blower is a 2 liter blower for instance, each revolution will displace 2 liters of air so long as.... It within it's efficiency range and has no inlet restriction at all. If you really want to try and get more out of it: Open up the inlet tract. Unless your blower is the bottle neck, you should see boost numbers climb. I saw 3 lbs of boost with my twin screw by swapping inlet manifolds. As a side effect, it also lowered blower discharge temps enough to bump timing up just a little bit more (mopowa). I'm planning the removal of even more inlet restriction but it's in line behind a ton of other projects.

The moral of my long winded story might be to look and see what else might make this thing as efficient at moving air as possible before trying to over spin it. A larger blower is the REAL answer.

The inlet is a custom piece I made.... from the old pieces I cut apart and re welded so the inlet faced the right way... then I welded on a piece of cooler pipe to attach the maf tubing......
I have about 5ft of tubing and 310* of bend between the maf and the charger!!! This is necessary to have until I get my ms2. Then a filter will just be slammed over the inlet and there will be 6" of inlet tract before the charger......
Heat I'm not worried about it has a Huge front mount in the system.
Keep the ideas coming we will figure this out, I will get pulley sizes measured up today and post that info.

What size is the inlet?
What size is the throttle body?
The mass air meter is also part of the inlet.

The point is to try and find an area of improvement aside from trying to over spin the blower.
