Hello all ive been building my car for over two years now and was curious as to what your thoughts are on if my car will be able to go into the 10's this year? start off by saying this is a 1992 Convertible LX
these are the weight reductions


15x8 Draglites in the rear
15x3 Draglites up front
Aluminum Driveshaft
Aluminum heads
No EGR crap at all..
no smog pump
A/C Delete
Smog Delete
QA1 Tubular K-member
Flaming River Manual rack and pinion
No heater core (everything under the dash is gone)
no sound deadening
no back seat
front/side/rear impact bars are gone
No A/C Condensor
SN95 Aluminum radiator
2 1/2" harwood fiberglass hood


The motor itself is as follows

forged 306 9:5:1 (probe)
Pro Topline 180cc Aluminum Heads
Lunati Cam (221/232, .530/.535)
Track heat intake
running either full race fuel or a 50/50 mix
Will be tuned by Alternative Auto...

Exhaust:
1 5/8" into a 3" collector longtubes
X-pipe
2 chamber flowmasters

Power Adder:
Vortech S-trim between 13-15 lbs

Transmission:
C-4 Trans
3000 Stall

Rearend:
Stock 8.8 with 3.73 gear
Eaton Posi

Suspension:
Eiabach drag spring front and rear (with the airbag)
50/50's
90/10's


Tires:
On the street i have a 275 Drag radial
at the track i will more than likely be running a slick..
165's up front..

So what do you think? what else do you need to know? do you think i will reach my goal this year?
 
If it hooks I say 10's should be there. A friends 93 vert with 347 S-trim(13#'s), ran 10.50's on slicks and 10.80's on drag radials. Only got one pass on the slicks, since the track was so crowded that day. This car had all the ammentities(AC,PS,heat, full interior,roll bar, etc..) His race weight was 3900 with him.

I think you should reach your goal no problem if traction is there...
