I have an Autometer Sport Comp 2 5/8" Tach, and ever since I installed the MSD Pro Billet Ready-to-run distributor, the tach is very erratic at the lower rpms (especially at idle). It used to work just fine with the old distributor and pertronix system.
Could it be that I am using a Pertronix coil? I think I read somewhere on autometer's website that all ignition parts be matched. Think buying an MSD coil would fix it?

I never bothered asking earlier because I had bigger problems with the car to deal with at the time.
