Well i didn't qualify for the full loan i wanted. Only for 15 thousand. And i really dont want a 99+04 Mustang. So i decided to keep this car, get a $6000 loan. Buy the 6 speed tranny, long tubes, new exhaust, upper and lower rear control arms, lowering springs, new struts and shocks, and get it tuned by someone who knows their ****. What you guys think???

Is this a wise choice??? Im kinda down right now cuz i really wanted that 05...

i say you get it running right first... not that im aginst it or anything... but taking out loans isnt always a great idea... I dont think the 05 would be a good choice anyway... you would be paying high insurance... a good tune is always good.... i say you just SC' it for about 3-4g's and get it tuned... dont buy a new exhaust if you already have a decent one... and if you do... i call dibs on the old set up... LOL

well now that i think of it... im build my car on my college rebate from my student loan... along with paying for food

really the only thing thats wrong is the tranny is super hard to shift, i dont know if its the headers or what but i have an annoying exhaust leak(with the new copper gaskets), and it needs a tune. Thats mostly it. Suspension is just old.

Atleast get the money to pay someone to get it running right and properly tuned. Maybe wait on the tranny but I dont know what its doing so if you think it needs a new one go for it.

yea... id wait on the trans 2... just buy one at a junk yard and build it on the side
id be wasting more money than i need, ill just end p breaking that one to with the power i should be putting out

i know how it feels to have a car that has annoying quirks that make it no fun to drive.

for me it was the contant worrying about the oil consumption and not being able to get the tune right. then the motor broke

i say pick the most annoying thing and get that fixed first. then you'll like it again.

Just remember that parts like that are kinda like toilet money - you wouldnt get a great return on the parts if you later sell the car or part the good stuff. It's something to remember with these money pits.

I'd get it tuned and address the trans for sure, and sooner than later. As said, if you got a working J/Y T5 to hold you over, that would work. And you could probably sell it for near what you paid when the T56 goes in.

The other stuff is pretty cheap (suspension and exhaust) and not totally mandatory. And the installs are very easy.

Good luck bud.

My brother is actually having a problem with his camaro right now that is similar to your transmission problem. Right now at full throttle he cant put it into third gear, even if he tries to force it (it either slips out and goes into 1st or 5th, it only went into 1st once and he almost **** himself) This problem on his car is something to do with his master and slave cylinder on his transmission, so it might be a similar case to yours.

In later F-bodies, they used an orifice-reducer to limit fluid transfer - it keeps the 'clutch pedal action' from occuring too fast. A lot of guys drill it out so they can get uber-diaphram-finger bite quickly.

The reason I posted: an issue with hydraulics should affect all gears equally. For an issue with one gear, I might look elsewhere. I know nothing of the issue or what's been done diagnostically - it's just my unsolicited 0.000002 cents.

Good luck.
