Everyone I need your opinion

i know how it feels to have a car that has annoying quirks that make it no fun to drive.

for me it was the contant worrying about the oil consumption and not being able to get the tune right. then the motor broke

i say pick the most annoying thing and get that fixed first. then you'll like it again.

Yes. BUT for me it has always been an easy fix if Itake it to the right place. When I did my H/C/I, the car would NOT run right. I took it to a dyno shop that was reputable, they figured it out and fixed it and over and done with. I did not have the time to fool with that TWEECER when using it for MAJOR changes. I let the experts do it, I don't plan on making anymore changes now and it runs top notch and I KNOW the tune is totally safe. End of story. No more worries.

If you haven't, just take your car to a good tune shop or get a new trans, let them fix it and move on. If the problem is just the trans then get a new one.

Just remember that parts like that are kinda like toilet money - you wouldnt get a great return on the parts if you later sell the car or part the good stuff. It's something to remember with these money pits.

I'd get it tuned and address the trans for sure, and sooner than later. As said, if you got a working J/Y T5 to hold you over, that would work. And you could probably sell it for near what you paid when the T56 goes in.

The other stuff is pretty cheap (suspension and exhaust) and not totally mandatory. And the installs are very easy.

Good luck bud.

True. :nice: Also remember if you get into a nasty accident, you will never get your money out of it from the insurance co, especially if the parts are messed up and you can't sell them like this guy that had the car fire...

On the subject of camaro...I had a new one. I like the stangs better hands down so that's what I bought. I like the sound better, looks better, drives better, better quality interior, much more class and now with the mods it screams.

Best way to do this is to have it as a 3rd car as I do. I wouldn't want to drive it every day.

OT: i now believe the tune was actually ok, and that the bottom end was just on its last legs, and the blower put it out of its misery. at the time though, i thought it was the tune that was causing the problems. i could be wrong though.

back on topic, i saw somewhere that t5 rebuild kits run around $250. diy tranny rebuild doesn't look like an easy thing to do, but it might be another option.

Yay for keeping the Mustang! you'll be glad you did once you get it running right. Then once its running right if you want to trade it for my lancer ill understand. i know youve always wanted a ricer. ha. this is ambrella from myspace btw.

Taking a loan to buy aftermarket parts for the stang doesnt sound like a very wise move. Why would you want to pay interest on a bunch of patrs? JMO but I think the wise move would be to take the loan money and buy a decent DD and then go about fixing the stang after you have a car to drive and not have to worry about down time or trying to get it all fixed at once. Winter is coming and the stang is useless anyway, grab a nice SUV w/ 4wheel drive and work on the stang over the winter. good luck with your decision.

I agree with this. Budget yourself to have this as a third car. Being a financial planner at one time (once-always) that is your best move. Start your financial life with good habits, wait a tad longer and you will be EXPONENTIALLY better off in the long run. After watching spending patterns of over 200 people over a period of 7 years, I can tell you that this is true. It's tough to do but either way, it is your decision of course.

If you do decide to sell the car, make sure you part it out. The money you will keep is ALOT. I would go to the junk yard or buy a set of e7's cheap and other oem stuff if I didn't save it, slap them on myself and put all the old parts back on.

i dont need to get a car so i can keep this one as a second. I can always borrow my moms ride when my car is on the downside. So if i did get a second car id be wasting more money. I could just use that money on mods. And i live in Phoenix, my car is not worthless on the winter. Its still hot over here. lol. Well thats what im going to do, i want the t-56. So rebuilding mine will just waste money. ill be doing to installs myself
