ex. leak.

You could send an email to a company that makes midpipes and ask for a replacement.. my Mac H pipe came with one.. I'm sure most companies would send you one for a couple bucks.

it sux that there isnt a gasket there i wonder if one could make a round gasket somehow
you don't need a gasket

it comes from the factory without one

the problem is the stock studs. they have a 'shoulder' on them that prevents a tight seal. buy the stud kit or use a nut and bolt

Sorry, I should've clarified.. I usually assume people who chime in to midpipe threads know what I'm referring to. I'm talking about the little 2 inch or so flange piece that sits in there.

Or you can leave the studs in there and put some washers under the nut then tighten down. Also when you do it MAKE certain that the driver side is getting pulled up evenly otherwise you'll get a leak.
The mac h's seem to be outta a thinner guage and will warp and won't seal properly if tightened down one at a time.
As a sidenote several come with a sleeve that slides inside the driverside pipe. It seems to help ALOT with leaks and getting everything tight and remaining tight.

DONT LISTEN TO ANY ONE HERE!

I KNOW WHATS GOING ON!

on the drivers side it is a ball and cup style joint, so obviosly there cant be a gasket.

Whats going on is there are dowels on the header that prevent over tightening, but they are too tall for some aftermarket companies to make a good seal.

I fixed mine by taking off the driver side section of my 2pc. then used a Dremmel with a tungstin carbide bit to take some metal off of the flange where it touched the dowels.

I didnt take alot off, and i just made my cut at a 45 degree angle so the dowel could get into the flange a little.

The pipe i have is a Pypes 2 piece off-road X

all the pics online are far away, but for the most part think of the bolt stud atached to the header. at the base of the stud there is a little round steel, most likly rusty, thing that isnt welded but the threads of the studs prevent it from falling off. kind of like washers that are made for a bolt that you cant separate. the dowel isnt thick, meaning its outer diameter isnt that big, but its just long enough to cause your problem.

Hope that helps
