Exhaust and Clutch Question

Got my SLP o/r x and LT headers on my 98GT yesterday. The place i had it done at called and said my clutch was gone. I've had the car for almost 2 years, never had any problem but I did notice it was alot stiffer than most clutches and it didn't pop until you let your foot almost completely off. It shifted fine and i had no prob doing launches. Toasted Clutch?

Next question which i know is a normal prob was i got a check engine light this morning like 100 miles after having the exhaust put on, I gave the guy the MIL eliminators I bought to put on. Would there be a huge difference in power if the computer went into limp mode?

Thanks guys...........Eric

P.S. the LM 1 sounds good but im putting mufflers on before my neighbors come out one morning with pitchforks...................

If you feel the clutch is slipping, then Id change it, otherwise, ride on that one for a while til it does die. Also, get the codes read on the CEL and see what it is. Make sure he hooked the mils up.

If its just the MILs not working you should be fine, but if its the front o2's not getting hot enough then you could wrap the header. To check your clutch find a big hill, start cruising up it i 2nd, then shift into fifth and floor it - if you get slip (RPMS go up but speed doesn't) then you need a new clutch. Another way to tell is do some WOT passes and shift aggresssively...but that could lead to the clutch dying anyway lol
