Has anyone used, or know someone who has used these exhaust cut-outs by mr. gasket. they are 1/4 the price of the electric ones, and still can be opened from inside the car by pulling a small lever. the only thing that bothers me is that they only offer it in 2" diameter. would that be a big enough bottle neck to reduce power when there closed? I've always wanted to pull up to a light next to some lady putting her makeup on, open cutouts, and let it rip.

considering you need all the back pressure you got i doubt it won't hurt performance with a smaller end fitting.

The Chevy guys have had this for decades. My dad had those on our old Chevelle. The only difference they were operated with a cable back then.

I do agree with everyone, unless you go to forced induction(blown or turbo). You are only going to hurt performance with the cut outs. In stock trim you need that back pressure to help with torque.

I don't want them for performance. I just wanted them for my own amusment. I'll keep them closed at the track, or when I'm racing...exept for maybe when I stage

My cousin has one (the q-tech electric one) on his Firehawk, and he seems to like it. The only problem with the one that you posted is that I've heard that they leak over time, because the little flap inside quits sealing well. I have some with the bolt on plates that you undo by hand, and I havent used them in over a year. I think the car sounds great with my exhaust, and it sounds like an old truck with them open. If you want them though, I'd go for it....just might get old to you after a while though.

yeah, I remember when I first put my flame thrower kit on my car, I would pull up to every light with flames shooting out both sides of my car. now I use it only when someone asks me to see it. thats why I don't want to spend a lot of money if I get them.
