Well if I was low on money I would get pypes o/r x 190$ and catback on sale for 420$ and plus that setup sounds really good with a cam. You need to get mil on sale right now 60$ and 02 extension 40$.

UPR makes a good quality X-pipe and it's fairly cheap @ $160

96-98 Mustang Off Road X Pipe

As far as the cat-back is concerned, it would most likely be cheaper to have an exhaust shop fabricate a catback with mufflers of your choice.

I agree with blkvert I have pypes x pipe and catback and for the price you can beat it, and its stainless. I love the way these mufflers sound.

Though you'd never ask, lol.

Keep in mind these are without tail pipes. Similar note, just a little crisper with the tails.

Well I have an auto and my 02 cords weren't long enough to reach to the top of the trans, so I had to buy extension. AM sell the beast system for 580$ pypes o/r x and pypes catback. Honestly though save your money for a system you like, I bought pypes o/r x 180$ and magnaflow magnapack catback 500$ and then mil and 02 extension. Pretty much what I am getting at is buy what you want cuz you don't want to spend money again buying a different setup. And whatever setup you do buy stainless steel. Here is vid of my setup. If anybody wants to hear sound videos, YouTube has become a great place to do so. Just do a search on PYPES in this case and you'll have plenty to listen to. Good luck choosing your system.

There is always some truth to anything you read on the forums. However, sound is so subjective. What someone says is 'raspy' might be your perfect sound. Also, every mod you make on your car changes its sound. If you are going off road, most cat backs will start to sound 'raspy'. If you have a factory H pipe or catted aftermarket pipe, the Pypes mufflers are not going to be overly aggressive. I have a 94 5.0 that has a Beast system on it and the car has a cam. I'm 52 and I have driven it almost everyday for the past 5 years and love it. The car is a beater but everyone compliments me on the sound of that car.

Check out some sound clips on Spin Tech. They sound nasty when wide open, but they are pretty tame at low RPM.
