Hey everyone, I just wanted to get some different opinions on which cat back systems sound best on our cars. I currently have a full Mac setup; shorty headers, o/r h, and cat back. I love the way it sounds, but my tailpipes are badly rusted so I'm in the market for something new. I would have no problem buying Mac again, but just wanted to see if there is something else I should be considering. I've been away from Mustangs for a while so I'm not up to speed on everything that's out there now. Thanks!

I actually have Mac tailpipes on my Dynomax mufflers. For years I didn't have tailpipes, and I liked the Macs because they had an extra socket flange on them. That way you don't have to cut and weld to take the exhaust out.

I have Magnaflows. Really high quality product. Not quite as aggressive sounding as many other systems, without sacrificing flow. I saw a catback comparison somewhere that was comparing decibels to horsepower, and magnaflow was near the bottom on the decibels side but very close to the top on the horsepower side.

Also, I have had mine for 10 years now and not a spot of rust. Not sure how old yours are, but quality and product life span is worth considering.

I have a set of Magnaflow Ultraflow mufflers also. I have seen that same muffler comparison where they rated well, and others where they were middle of the pack. I don't know how much resistance the Ultraflow muffler could really have; you can drop your keys straight through them. Either way, mine are 15 years old now and still look and sound like brand new.

My Magnaflow catback has no drone, they sound great! I'm not sure how loud Macs are, so someone else will need to chime in, but I consider my exhaust to be fairly quiet compared to other brands, so I'm not sure if the Magnaflows would give you the "more noise" that you are looking for.
