Just a few questions about exhaust for a 03 GT... I was planning on getting an off road X pipe for my car, but I recently was talking to someone who said that the newer mustangs need the back pressure for the exhaust, so its not that much of an advantage to take the cats off. This didn't sound quite right to me, I think the more free flowing the better, but I thought I'd throw it out to everyone to see if anyone else has heard anything about it. Thanks.

He getting backpressure confused with delta pressure. Taking the cats off won't hurt anything but emissions. Do a search on delta pressure and you'll find a thread on this.

Actually here it is:http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=426863&highlight=delta+pressure

you will loose some low end torque. I have done it. But 4.10's gears will take care of that. I would go with a off road h-pipe you will loose less torque. X pipes flow better than h pipes but with an x pipe you will loose even more torque than with a h pipe.

the losses will be totally minimal if any. Insignificant amounts. Don't lose sleep over it.
