exhaust questions on a 98gt

[/COLOR]as the tittle states i have a 98 gt with an aode that i just got. yes i know its slow and its an automatic so lets cut to the chase. i had read somewhere that instead of changing the cat-backs one should rather change out the h pipe. as you all know mustangs now have 6 cats and that to me sounds very restricting, so if i changed it to a hi flow cat or even and off road x pipe would i see any results? is it even worth it? but most of all is it true? after all your still relieving some of the stringent exhaust components. going from 6 to 2 cats or even none should be as good as changing out the catbacks. shouldnt it? let me know what you guys th ink.

I did the headswap first before changing my exhaust, but yes, the hi-flow catted X made a good difference and probably would be noticible on your car as is.

If you live anywhere without the sniff test, then I would say by all means get the off road pipe. Your exhaust will breath a hell of a lot better without the cats.

X =better top end pull
h = better low end pull



Mine souds great without cats. But now it doesn't sound loud enough to me
