exhaust tip size

im hoping this is considered technical...

i have 2.5" exhaust and just added a cobra bumper so im going to cut the turn downs and add chrome tips.

now the question is, what should the inlet diameter be? should it be 2.5" or 3.0"??

Stock would be 2 1/4, but it could be 2 1/2 if it is aftermarket. Easiest way to do it is measure it and find out, just to be safe.

This is a subjective thing - you should do what you think looks good.

Personally, I think it looks really bad to see a smaller tail pipe sized up to a big set of tips. I suppose the younger set on the forum might refer to that as a 'ricer' look. If I were you, I'd 1) keep the tips the same size as your tailpipes, and 2) use polished stainless, not chrome.
