I got a chance to get an 90 degree explorer manifold elbow... im putting an explorer manifold on the stang and need an elbow i saw trick flow and tons of other companys make them for like 60+ i was just wondering if a stock explorer elbow will work... ill post pics tomorrow
You are better off using an elbow meant for the 94-95. The Explorer one can be used but not with your Mustang throttle body. Also, the throttle linkage would need modifications to work with the different orientation of the Explorer's 90* bend. It is not worth saving $60 IMO.
I had no issues with my PP elbow. I bought the plain one and had a friend powder coat it and the upper intake. It also has a larger opening than the Edlebrock elbow.
I had mine powdercoated also (why I went with the cheaper elbow), I smoothed it out a bit. Mine was preaty crappy.
1. I had to grind/relieve the flange that bolts to the upper a bit as one of the t-body plugs would not fit on the t-body due to the edge hanging out too far.
2. I had 4 studs 3 nuts and 3 bolts with one funky 8pt bolt to mount it with.
3. The holes did not line up correctly no matter what I had 3 line up and 1 off...like the edge of the hole was going threw the middle of the threaded hole on the stock stuff.
4. the inside was VERY rough...like it was cast out of a mud mold formed by 3yr olds...the outside wasnt much better esp. at the flanges.
5. My egr threads needed to be re-done as they were preaty bad as well.
