Ok, I have search the forums anf have not found any specifics on the Explorer add ons to the mustang.

What does the Explorer intake do for me? Why is it a good addition? Do I need the upper and lower plentum? Are the heads better? Would it be worh my time to do any of this?
Thanks guys for the info.

considering that the gt40 heads were used on the 5.8L lightenings, I don't know that you'd be better off with 351w heads. I'd go with some gt40, or gt40p heads, and that intake. use the upper and lower together, or if you want an identical gt40 intake setup, use the explorer lower and pick up a gt40 upper.

Just buy the whole Explorer engine and swap the accessories, cam, and front end. BTW, you'll need to mill the GT40 heads to get the 9:1 compression ratio of the Mustang, HO motor.

this is what we did, we bought the whole engine. We're not gonna mill the heads. We're gonna see how it runs first, then make some passes, eventually rip it all apart, port, mill, etc
