hey im not really knowledgeable when it comes to what is needed to swap a 5.0 in a stang, so im asking haha. what all is needed to swap a 5.0 from a mid 90s expoder into a '90 4cyl auto stang, (will also be doing a 5spd swap). i plan on using a diff upper intake (gt40?) but what will i need out of another 5.0 mustang? or bought new? any info would be great because i have none haha, thanks guys once again i know nothing about this stuff and im not claiming to.

Just a thought....

Why do you plan on a different upper intake? The Explorer lower is the same as the GT40 lower with the exception of a act sensor hole being there in one and you have to drill it in the Explorer. And as a set the Explorer flows almost the same as the GT40 set. Its a waste of money in my opinion...thats just me though.

you have to drill for the act and the return line for the coolant on the egr,if your using the egr.to do the swap im sure your gonna need the wire harness from a donor v8 car and all the other related fuel stuff. good luck phil

Yes, you will need to drill. The bung is there it just isn't drilled because the Explorer's ACT is mounted in the air intake tube not the intake. It is right in the front on the driver's side, can't miss it.
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/574.shtml this is to a intake shoot-out by allfordmustangs.com. It puts the Explorer against comparible intakes.
