There's a 97 mountaineer 5.0 out in the u-pull and someone already ripped off the valvetrain leaving just the shortblock there for the picking. I'm in the process of pulling apart the engine in my 95 gt vert to replace the timing chain and thought maybe I would go ahead and get this cam if it's worth getting.

I read that the explorer/mountie 5.0's had the gt40 package and basically had a b303 cam in them?? is this true, would it be worth tossing in my stock 5.0??

I mean hell, camshafts only cost $15.00 out at the u-pull lol.

our H.O. shortblocks are better. the explorers are not even forged. thhe explorers just had better intakes and heads. and if by some chance you get the heads swap the springs casue they are only good to .450 lift.

the explorer short block is the same as the 92+ short block minus the cam and timing cover. it aslo has that weird oil filter relocation thing(garbage too).
