Hi im putting a f303 in my 91 GT, stock heads, cobra or trickflow street heat intake. What else do I need, 1.6RR? what size valve springs? pushrods?
Stock bottom end
Will I have clearance issues?
Thanks

Springs and timing chain (if stocker is still on the car). Once you get the cam card you'll get an idea what springs to run.

You should have no problem running a f303 with a stock head/ stock piston.

True, but will it perform better, no. I think you may lose hp with the stock heads, I would stick with an E cam or TFS stage 1 until new heads are on if you insist on changing the cam, but its your car.

Not to threadjack, but do you think any low end power will be lost with a TFS stage 1 cam on a stock head/stock bottom end block. And with the TFS stage 1 will you need a spring upgrade?

You could run the trick flow upgrade springs for stock heads, summit sells them, and a 1.6 ratio RR with the stock push rod.

As ALWAYS, you should upgrade your springs with the cam, i however when i had the 5.0 in the car, used a B-303 cam with stock springs, it did work, and sounded really cool, but low end power suffered. The cam was way too big, it needed more compression and better flowing heads. I think the TFS1 can be used with stock springs as some have done it on here before.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the TFS1 cam because of its split duration profile, it compensates for ford's poor flowing exhaust ports.
