I have a 1991 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 convertible. I went to the Ford Dealership to purchase 4 bolts that hold on the A/C discharge and suction manifolds to the top of the air conditioning compressor. My A/C compressor looks just like the one shown on page 36-32-3 of the factory car shop manual for 1991. Its identified as 6P148 Compressor.
When I showed the Ford Parts guy the old bolts he said "this is dealer air and we don't carry them". I ended up getting bolts that would work from Home Depot.
Today, I went to Advance Autoparts to get a new serpentine belt, and the guy wanted to know if it was factory air or dealer air, because there are 2 different sizes of belts!!
I have had the car since 1995 and always thought I had factory air. How can I indentify if its factory or dealer? I told the guy I would be back tomorrow hopefully with an answer. He says the factory serpentine belt is bigger than the dealer serpentine belt!
Thanks
Larry
