fan clutch

How can you tell if it's gone bad? After fixing the water pump i noticed that there was a wierd vibration at 3500rpm. i removed the fan then started the car and the vibration was gone. Put the fan back on and the vibration was back. When i spin the fan there's resistance (doesn't spin freely) which tells me it's ok. There's no play in the clutch assembly either. Anyone care to venture a guess??

Also, If anyone in Saskatoon or Regina has one they're willing to part with, let me know a price, etc.
Thanks

How does the fan spin when the car's running, if it's slow or you can stop it with your hand, or another less important object. Then's it's fu-barred.

But I'm telling you put an electric fan in for $20 or less. Then you don't have to piss around with ****ty mechanical one's anymore.
