Fan Switch Problems

I am trying to install a fan switch and I have a problem. I spliced into #17 on the ccrm for my positive and ran it with a ground through firewall to a 3-prong switch in the cockpit. The ground wire is long and screwed down in the engine compartment. When I turn key on but not the engine, and turn switch on, the fan is working but after awhile shuts off. When I start the car the fan does not come back on wheater the switch is activated or deactivated or on its own.

Please clarify. I think you mean you ran this to the + input on the switch you're using.

Does your fan connector have a circuit breaker on it?

well i dont know if im confused or what, but the number 17 wire should be grounded not +power . you did this right? did you try and just put a ground on the wire strait to the frame it could be your switch is malfunctioning
