so i havent posted in a while... i got my pcv valve junks right, got good grades and am allowed to drive. so today, my friends in the car with me, lightly raining, roads real wet. i come to a stopsign where im gonna turn left (90*) onto a 4 lane road. no traffic that i can see. some mexicans are next to the sign, and one thumbs uped me. so being the dumbass i am, i started slide in first, which i do plenty, and am good at, but then for some reason i hit 2nd and try to keep it going. got squirly and started to spin around into the other lane, this white truck is now coming at me as im spinning, but thank god he was slowing down, he was prolly a good 20ft behind my rearbumper when i was spinning, there is an angled curb with grass on it thats about a lane wide, with a fence about the width of one lane in the grass, my back right tire hit the curb first, pretty dead on, then my front wheel hit it and i was about 50/50 on off the curb and grass pointing the right direction for the lane i was now in. the ranger was next to me and he continued about his business, and i drove outta the grass and kept on going, the mexicans were all standing there staring at me. parked in a lot and got out to look . both tires had air, cars muddy. go further away to another parking lot, get out a towel, put it in a puddle get mud off and look around. one of the lips on my rim is bent, (back right) and it looks like its just the lip, if you look in behind the lip the circle continues around, so i think the bead of the tire is okay, so in other words my weel is a perfect circle, but the lip dents in slightly, for about a 2" long part of it. both tires look fine, sidewall wise and the car was pulling to the right. i figured i was countersteering so my front right just drove up it. let car sit for like 4-5 hours, got back in to visit the gf, and it seems just fine. doesnt seem to track odd anymore at all.

when i bought the car the guy gave me 3 more turbines and center caps w.o. tires on them, so ill prolly get them to put the tire on now on a diff rim, and get a front end alignment and check out the back, bushings, tie rods and all. im just worried about my tire, it looks just fine to me but of corse ill tlel them to have a look at it and ill get a new tire if the bead is messed up at all.

so dont lecture me about being stupid and all that crap, im a good driver, my friend told me that i did a good job keeping matters from getting worse, behind the fence there was a bank as tall as the fence itself. it was a horrible friday night, with the g.f. money, car, oh yeah and my right low beam is out. that means im a piddidle. great. so heres my friday

and tomorrow moring i get to wake up at 6.15 to go visit a college, then go to homecoming, then sunday wake up at 8 to go to work. woohoo

last day at the country club sunday, then im back at the carwash to make more money

so no bashes or anything, i know the spiel. i really dont drive fast or wrecklessly often. here comes another awful weekend, with another sleep deprived week after that.

just another day in paradise

Have someone drive behind you and see if your axle survived your little mishap. Since you're still in school here's a little equation for you

H.O. mustang + wet roads = ownage if you are not careful.

Take it easy so your car won't get taken away again bro.

Sorry to hear it man, at least it didn't end up like alot of the guys that do this, where the rear axle breaks and the front spindle is snapped.

I always try to take it careful and if I am gonna get sideways(purposefully) I always start in second(3.73s) just so I have a lil room to get up to speed and I can hold it longer without shifting and throwing me off.

It happens bro. Just get the car checked out. When I go sideways, I never shift, if I do, my car gets WILD.

Could be worse, you could have injured someone, possibly a bystander that you didn't see.

Just be glad you are ok.

Well at least you didn't slide into oncoming traffic and kill a mother of 3...

Also...when your tires are spinning and you shift gears and they keep spinning....you're spinning the tires faster...which is why you lost control. If you think 2nd is hairy, try hitting 3rd at about 35mph @4k RPM.....talk about running ditch to ditch.
