fender lip rolling

So what do you guys suggest, i was going to put on some rims yesterday but they wont fit without rolling the fender. And i sure as *** dont want to use a hammer, isnt there a tool you put on the axle and go back and forth? IF so where do i get one and how much lol

I think they are actually quite a few bucks to buy. Old school way of doing it was to place a bat between the wheel and fender and drive ahead. Or you couls cut small slits in the lip and just use a hammer.

i used the handle part of a hammer and used the leverage from my tire to sort of push and roll. It worked a little and the rubber on the handle keeps it from slipping

The Tire Rack doesnt rent it out anymore, but I have seen a couple places that still do.

The cut-and-hammer method would probably be the easiest way to go - just grab some tin snips and a ball-peen hammer, and go for it. Down here, it's not like we have to worry about rust, but you could always spray the exposed metal lines made from the cuts with some rubberized undercoating, if you wanna keep it tidy ... plus fresh undercoating keeps the wheelwells looking nice, especially when you're putting on new rims.

If you have a local Mustang shop, see if they have one. Brad's Custom Auto has one in the Seattle area.

Base Ball Bat and slow and steady. One person holds the bat, the other moves the car forward and backward. The trick is being patient. Good Luck

Use a Heat Gun when rolling your fenders, it will reduce the chance of cracking and chipping your paint.
