you could always sell the 331 kit and go with a 351 block. a stock 351 block is good to around 650-700hp IIRC
ive been down this road. get some aluminum heads the first time around. if you dont have the cash, then just save for a while. its not too hard to save up 1000-1300 dollars for some nice heads, TW heads work awesome IMO.
if you get the ported e7s or gt-40s etc etc and are serious about making alot of power. i GUARENTEE you will end up swapping to some better heads later on and you will have spent more money in the end.
