Fibreglass hood. Springs, prop rod or gas struts?

I just stripped my '65 hood hinges and was about to cut off the spring retainers as I'm using a glass hood. I was wondering what the general thought was on weather to use lighter springs a prop rod or gas struts.

I used the smaller hood springs with no issues on a 3" cowl hood.

Did you get your springs from Branda Mustang?
I'm using the same hood as you.
I like springs as nothing is getting in the way when you work on it.

I got my hood and springs from Mustang Plus. I agree it keeps the area free for easy access.
