Filling up with gas...

K so I'm trying to put gas in my car and it takes about five minutes to fill it... Not because it takes alot of gas to fill BUT... it pressures up the tank so fast I can only squeeze the handle 1/4 of the way. I have never come across this on any other car. Does anyone else have this problem?

That usually happens if someone has replaced the tank and not installed the vent tube properly. Thats just weird on a new car though...

I have this issue on my 95 GT and on my LeMans SE 1992 (beater) aswell.

Thats a problem on many of the 05 and 06s. Ford has a tsb for it, that fixes it. I've found though, that it only happens on some pumps. It never bothered me enough to get it fixed, and there is a work around:

Turn the pump nozzle 90 degrees to the right. (Some other people who had the problem report turning the nozzle 180 degrees nascar style) On my car anyway, if I do that, I can fill at full speed, on the problem pumps.Its worth a try anyway.

Strangely enough, my 05 has never done this.

The TBird does it occasionally and my truck does it consistently.
