As of now the car is still open downpipe, but the tails and mufflers are still on just hanging there. I am going to do one of two things. I have a 3 foot piece of straight 3 inch pipe and bullitt race muffler which I may run from the down pipe with the bullitt dumped right behind the passenger door. The other option is to use the 3 foot then use the Y that I have lying around and have it hook it up to the mufflers, which are spintech pro streets. I have pretty much decided to use the Y and hook it up to the existing exhaust my only concern is that it may quiet it down too much for my liking. I guess that doesnt matter because if it was really that quiet I can always take the tails off and dump the spintechs. Just thinking out loud I guess since I think I have already made my decision.

Well, I guess if you want an opinion, I would go with the single Bullit muffler and dump it. One turbo, one exhaust. It just makes more sense.

I actually am going to do that I think. Mainly because that will cost no money and I gotta save for the tune.

Sounds like a great idea. Always better to keep it simple anyway.

A guy on the corral in the turbo section put spintech on his turbo car....said he lost power. I dont remember the details to recall if he put up numbers, but he said that he could definately feel a loss.

Now you may or may not be worried about a couple ponies since u already know turbos are senstive to a muffler's flow capability. I would use the bullet for now....

My plan is to eventually get the turbo back on the car, run the down pipe to a bullet, an electric cut out, y pipe, maybe a cat or 2 if i can fit them, and hooker maxflows. I'd like a quiet and loud setup to use on demand.

And you already know, going from long tubes, dr. gas x, and pro streets to a turbo and spintechs is gonna be quiet to your ears!

Thanks for the info on the Spintechs. I was not aware and was wondering if they were known to lose power with turbos.

The only reason I was hesistant about the bullet dumped was because I have a feeling that it's not going to clean up the sound that much better than the open downpipe. I could be wrong, but you gotta figure there isn't much to a bullet. That and the car is far too loud right now and again, I don't know how much a bullet will quiet it down.

Regardless it's what I am going to do now because I cannot afford to do the other setup and the bullet dumped is free.

It always seems odd to me when exhaust is coming out anywhere except for the rear of the vehicle and a single muffler on a mustang just seems odd as well. You do realize that it will smell more right?? With the nice safe tune you're getting nice raw fuel smoke will be invading us when cruizing out to GH at WOT. If you want to be really cheap than you better be cutting off your spintechs and selling them asap.

Don't get me wrong I want to run tailpipes when its all said and done, but for the next couple months I just don't have even 100 bucks to spare.

I suppose the bullett Y'd to the tailpipes with no other mufflers wouldn't be a bad idea. What ya think?

Btw, girls in GH LOVE raw fuel cologne.

Ok so I did some research and keeping this Spintechs is definitely not a good idea. One guy over on turbo mustangs with a stock block and a T76 said his car was just wasn't running very good at the track and pulled the spintechs and gained 11 mph in the 1/8 mile. It seems to be unanimous over there that Spintechs aren't the way to go with a turbo car. Sounds like the general opinion is bullets if you want it a little noisy or Hooker Aerochamber for a bit quieter.

Maybe I will just run it open downpipe for the tune and wait til I can afford to do it right and the way I want it, which at this point I think will be the bullet through the tailpipes.

Also the hooker max flows....those are quiet though.

And from the mustangs will bullets that i have heard...there isnt much "tone" at all to the exhaust...the ear pinching volume just was reduced a little. I've never been a fan of it.

What about glasspacks? They are straight through worry less about losing power.

More or less the same concept as bulletts I believe.
