Finally back to doing some Fox body custom work!

i will check out their website but your right it would be nice to get the bend in it but it would be difficult with the double din radio.

It's beyond difficult, there's simply not enough room (using the stock bend point).

Got one other shot that shows the surface finish a little better.

Alan's work is completely in another league vs. that flat-stock piece with holes cut in it.

Did you see the "gauge cage" he made me? Compare that to Autometer's scrap of metal.

That last pic looks great. I will certainly have to step mine up!!

Dave, the parts aren't too different from a manufacturing standpoint. The ones I've shown start out as flat panels with holes cut in them, but I've chosen to bend mine. Nothing wrong with their part, but I feel a bent panel is indeed much more aesthetically pleasing.

Materials seem the same (ABS), but I'm going a different router here in regards to finish. If I really like the outcome, I can always do it in aluminum. Plastic just keeps the costs more realistic, of course.

That's my point, that bend makes a night and day difference. Nothing wrong with the other at all but if I were to choose between the two it'd be an easy decision.

You could double din your panel with the bend as you have it but the deck would have to go on the bottom and the heater controls on the top

This is true, however I think most people would prefer your setup with the radio relocated higher.

In my own fox, I have 2 DIN spaces taken up with a CD player and two 1/2 DIN signal processors. My HVAC controls are in the factory location.

Thanks for the props on my work so far. After a nice 4th of July weekend, I'll be ready to put some finishing touches on this panel and move on to my next project...
