July last year I drove the car to the local college and pulled the motor. For $93 I got enrolled in "High performance engine blueprinting".
I stripped the block down and bored it 0.030' over on a rottler machine.
Then I honed it in 3 speps to it's final bore size (4.0285") on a sunnen hone machine. I used stock rods and forged trw pistons. Fel-pro gaskets and arp hardware. I worked on it untill the end of 2005. then took it home when the semister was over. Then I moved to santa barbara and took a job as a mercedes mechanic. For the next 4 months the mustang waited in orange county for me to finish it. I would come back and work on it on the weekends sometimes. Last weekend me and some friends dropped the motor in the car in 10 min. flat. 2 days ago I bench pressed the trans. in. And finally yesterday after a mad dash to prime the oil pump hook up the driveshaft and connect the fan and swap in a good battery all before the sun set in a half an hour, the new motor fired for the first time in almost a year.
It's MAF controlled with a 70mm tb, street heat intake, e7 heads (will be alum heads soon enough) stock cam (I love it!) u/d's, elec fan, shorty headers, 2.5" exaust with no cats, ring gaps and bearing clearances setup for n2o. With a 150 wet shot I want 450RWTQ.
Mods in sig...

It started right up and idled great. No leaks, got timing dialed in real quick, great oil pressure etc...

Only thing is.....I stripped 2 of the 4 transmission to bellhousing bolt threads in the bellhousing..... So I am afraid to drive it like this....the only setback the whole build.... What do you guys think? Time for a steel bellhousing? heli coil the one i have? drive it like it is?? The bolts call for 100lbs of tq right?

First big motor I build and it turns out great. The time invested was well worth the return. Cant wait to finish all the little things and get it to a track this summer! I have pics but no scanner. When I can I'll get them on here.
