I paid $1750 for her! Talked the guy down $250 just for the work on the drivers quarter I'll need later!

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

Well that at least decreases the chance that you'll have a nagging wife telling you not to spend all her money on the car.

Well, it has begun..

The first new(used) part was bought today! Got my hands on a used passenger door today for $40.. Window motor works and all. (The current doors are all rusted out on the bottoms and the right door doesn't have a window motor at all). Missing the interior panel, but I still have mine, so we should be set there!

Tomorrow the VSS is being changed.. Gonna get a better look underneath, hoping to order shocks/struts first thing next week after I get a really good look at what else may need to be replaced along with them!

Got a lead on a new hatch! Yay! Can't believe I've only had the car a week and my list is being checked off pretty fast!

VSS was a pain to change.. it was sheared right off into the housing! A lot of heat, a little patience, a long screw, pliers and a crowbar and it finally came out! Lol but my pony is officially back to clicking miles.

This week I encountered a problem with the gas pedal sticking.. it would rev between 2 and 4k rpm just on the startup!! I haven't driven it since Wed. Worked everyday since so haven't had time to dig in and see what's going on til late last night.. I've got a sprung spring on the throttle body.. Going to get a new TB this week and probably change that next weekend.. (got rain in the forecast and I'm not lucky enough to have a garage) Probably dig into valve cover gaskets and plugs and wires too.

Scored a new (used) drivers door today and a set of pony rims.. missing 2 center caps, but those shouldn't be too hard to come by.. Anyone got extras?

I'm pretty happy with everything so far! Can't wait for a new TB and to drive her more! The t5 is really growing on me!

What world do you live in Noobz.. birds gotta fly, ducks gotta swim, wives gotta nag. It doesn't matter how much money we spend on a car, we are not spending it on her.

OP is a chick... (I think you missed that part) Less likely that she'll have that nag as her spouse.

This wife paid for it herself! The hubby doesn't get a say! He does his car thing, I do mine!

Actually thinking CAI instead. Larger throttle body and exhaust will be in my future.. Fat flow masters or something of the like, maybe nix the cats.. She runs great, sounds good.. But she needs a deep throaty pony rumble! I'm dying to hear that!!
