Finally got a 4x4!

Some of you may remember me asking about 4x4's after my Jeep was totaled 2 months ago. Well, I finally found what I wanted and paid $9500 for it today. I think I got a pretty good deal really. Just gotta wait on a lein to be released and it'll sit in front of the Stang in the driveway.

Gotta have somethin' to haul my engine stand and hoist home with so I can rebuild the motor in the GT

It's a Pewter 98 Chevy Silverado Ext. Cab short wide bed 4x4 w/ 128k, auto tranny, 3rd door and cloth. Everything works well, push-button 4wd - which was tested by yours truely. Aftermarket CD Player, American Racing wheels and 285/70 tires, plastic molded bed liner. I love that truck! I could see on top of Jeeps like mine just sitting in that truck. I went and got a $4000 loan at a credit union and paid cash for the truck. They were asking $10,900. I went back and he's like "we're asking $10,900." I'm like "I'll give you 9-5 right now and he's like "how about 10-5" and I'm like "ah, no can't do that." Either way, he ended up taking $9500 to his boss and got it approved, so I paid $9500 for it. It books at $10,300. The only thing is someone traded it in on a jeep wrangler and they gotta wait for the lein to be released from it, so I can't get it for maybe up to 2 weeks. Oh yeah, it's also got true dual exhaust - flowmasters and 3 or 3 1/2 inch chrome tips. The best part is I don't think I'll have to work on it all the time, which will be nice.

Been registered on FSC for about a month and a half now I registered to do some homework and ask questions before looking. Seems to be a great site for full size chevy's.

Dtowncats: Is your dads a V6? Might just be in the area, but these trucks are not cheap by any means. I've been looking for around 2 months and I've found plenty that sell for $8000-9000 in less condition and with more miles. I was looking at a 97 similar to this one w/o the wheels and tires, without the dual exhaust and flowmasters and the body had plenty of dings and dents, stereo didn't work, windshield seal needed replaced w/ 116k and they wanted $8900, but kinda sounded like I could have gotten it for 7000-7500. Either way, I didn't like the dinged up body and by the time I put the tires/wheels, new stereo, etc in it, I would have had around $8500 in it anyway.

There might be better deals out there, but I've been looking and couldn't pass this up. I feel confident I could put a for sale sign on it and sell it for every penny I've spent so far. Book for a clean one w/ those options is like $9500 and outstanding condition is $10,300 - this one is somewhere between those. Regardless, I'm happy so far. I'll be even happier when they get the lein cleared and I get to actually have what I paid for.
