Im new at building a 5.0 up in horsepower and everything working together well. So I figured I'd ask you guys how you think it will work out... My new setup is this

76mm C & L Mass Air (24#injectors)
70MM Proff. Products throttle body and spacer
Edelbrock Performer RPM 2 intake
BBK Fuel press reg.
24# Injectors
GT40P Heads Ported and Polished
E303 Cam
1.7 Roller Rockers
MAC Ceramic headers (for GT40P heads)
Off Road x-pipe
MAC catback

All this is being dumped onto the car from practically stock. I wanted to add everything at once. Will all these parts work together or is there anything in that lineup that will throw off tuning?? or should it just run like a bat outta hell? Thanks for any experienced opinions

Bat outta hell. You may have some mild part throttle driveability issues, but you've got a solid combo that ought to be good for 275 or so at the rears.

Enjoy the burnouts!

Good luck...

you might run into a problem with the e 303 and the 1.7 RR's in the PTV clearance. I may be wrong but just make sure you check your clearances.

Too much intake, probably be better off with a cobra or gt40
Pro m or pmas meter would definetely be better.

I don't think there is much pv clearance issues, but 1.7 rockers and an e cam tend to not like stock springs.

I run that same intake, & cam in my HCI combo, but I have Edelbrock perfomer heads (2.02/1.60) on a stock bottom end... Everyone & there mom told me that it was too large of an intake, & that the car would have no low end, but the car spins the tires all the way through 1st gear. It also put down 300rwhp/320rwtq to the ground & I havent even swapped out the stock fuel pump, 19lb injectors, & it has a 93 Cobra MAF.... The rockers are 1.7s' on the exhaust, & 1.6's on the intake side, & I am running LT's..... I want to add a better cam, & 1.7's all around, but stock bottom ends & 2.02 valves wont allow it....

The car rips pretty hard as is, & I estimate yours will be in the 275-280rwhp range....

I REALLY appreciate the comment... I think with the GT40Ps all worked up it should be a nice combo. I couldnt believe that it was too much intake, nice to see someone actually have done what im doing... Ive already got a Holley Avenger 190lph fuel pump, and with the larger injectors and mass air, it should crank. I had a regular performer intake and it just reminded me of a stock intake. I wanted more. I still have a stock bottom end as well, I will be stepping up to a 347 stroker, but for now I wanted more then a stock 5.0... I wanna hit some high 12's with this car. You had yours to the track? how is it

The Performer would suit the "P"s better. However, the RPMII will be nice on the 347.

Ur heads are nothing like his, they easily outflow them.
Not sure what spinning the tires in first gear has to do with anything on a hci car.
If you said it spun the tires at 2000 rpm in 3rd gear that statement actually might mean something.
Byrde is right, it's a 347 intake.
I drive a car that lugs a little down low, kinda sucks in traffic.

Peak numbers are nice to brag about, but they don't always make the fastest most street freindly car. While the rpm II would make alot of peak power, i bet it would make less average power.

Thats the great thing about 5 Ohs.. everyone has thier own setup.. tons of options, but as long as it boils down to my car being faster, having more balls then stock, and turning out quicker times in the 1/4 mile with my given setup, thats all that matters to me. With the RPM 2, it gives me the ability to add as much as I want, and I wont have to worry about upgrading intakes. As long as when I leave a light and the car doesnt stall out on me, then i can handle it. Im use to driving around a bone stock 5.0 with 2.73's... I doubt its any worst then that. I guess we'll just have to see when its all back together. I dont have much money to work with, so I'll have to make due. I spent 450 on the intake, and 200 on the heads, so they'll have to do til I can afford performer heads or whatever.

I 100% agree a smaller intake IE Cobra or Performer would yeild more power and tq across the entire curve, although I'm not a huge fan of the Ecam (old technology)

the intake is a little big like everyone else said, but it wont hurt you that much, if you already own it, then dont sell it. When you build a bigger motor you can use it on that one

That looks like a pretty good setup to me, should be alot of fun especially considering that you are coming from a stocker, you will notice a HUGE difference, its gonna be like driving a new car. Depending on how well the P-heads are ported the may flow better than some of the cheaper aluminum heads

I wasn't bragging, I was just giving the guy a good example that a random, off the wall combo can still make great power. Yes, a regular performer intake will make more power across the board, but like him, I am also planning on building a bigger bottom end down the road, & I did not want to buy an intake twice... For what its worth my car spins the tires pretty hard in 2nd gear as well, but not 3rd....:D

No, it's not really better to buy big now.
Planning for the close future is one thing, planning for a time that may never come is another.

So, unless there is some windfall of cash coming in, it could be years before people get to use the intake on the right setup.
A normal 302 setup, is about 5 grand away from a 347 intake.

Besides, intakes lose very little value, especially when purchased used.
$400 now, will still be $400 later. So swapping intakes is merely an ebay ad away.

With your theory, everyone should buy the biggest heads and intake setup.
God knows, every guy with a 5.0 plans on big horsepower someday.
