so ive been trying since december(since the car first started) to actually get her running 80% right to go get tuned. well tonight Im pretty sure I nailed it! I have been running my megajizz ecu trying trying trying and nothing. i sent my ecu to get tested. good. sent injectors. good. new fuel stuff. nothing diff. I traced the megasquirt wires following the diagrams and everything was ran perfectly, all conections were tight.
I finally gave in and called Ricky at Big3 in brunswick ohio. He had said that he had some incorrect Megasquirt wire diagrams on a neon they did a while back. after talking for a bit we thought out the problem to be something with the coilpacks.

The fix... let it be known that i have coil packs, not COP.
After dealing with what seemed like a dead cylinder and a miss the last 4 months. It came out to be the easiest/cheapest fricking fix ever. I actually re-pinned the coil pack harness. I swapped the two outer wires. The car fired right up with no miss. no sputter. no detonation sounds. IT JUST SOUNDED LIKE F@CKING SWEET SEX!! It revs now, it idles so smooth. I am so happy!!

we have a couple more things to do before it goes to get tuned... mount overflow bottle somewhere, make tail pipe, fix a couple leaks, and adjust the clutch cable. then im ready for some low boost tuning to break in the motor for a few hundred miles.

Thanks to all that helped me through this stupid frickin setup. but in the almost end im happy with how it turned out.

And bhuff30 sorry i got pissy with you a couple weeks ago. my fault. i read your post wrong.

Thanks.

I'm glad you found the problem, and even better, it was an easy fix. That car should be a real beast once you get it dialed in.
