well people have told me before i start modding the 02 motor i need to replace the hyper-wahtever bottom end, with all forged... well i'll have roughly 3-4k to do this, which i didn't want to spend all my money on, but i guess i have to

i looked, and peicing a bottom end together with forged parts just PISSES ME OFF, plus im stupid and got the parts wrong anyway

does ANYONE know of a kit for the 4.6L '02 motor, that is all forged, and how much it would run

cause i gotta pay the poor bastard who installs it....... this sucks... HELP ME PLEASE

Thanks in advance
~Will

What kind of mods are you planning to do in the near future that require a forged bottom end?

Rather than a kit approach, I'd recommend an entire short block, or if you're going to get really serious about mods, a long block. If nothing else, most reputable builders will stand behind their engine assemblies for some period of time if there's a problem. You'd probably be money ahead in the long run, since you just start bolting on your parts once it shows up. Just a thought...

hey that stedda site was awesome. they have a forged kit for around 2k....

question for u all

the car is a 985t, with an 02 GT motor in it.

Would i be able to get the 99-03 cobra forged bottom end kit? it has the lowest compression, and price, and is what i need!!

any problem with putting a cobra bottom end in a regular gt?

I'd suggest about a 19cc dish for the 02 motor...thats what we use in most of our GT blower motors. Check out the online store for pictures, pricing and descriptions of what we offer.

how much does a shop usually charge to put a new rotating assembly in? this is key becuase i only have a certain amount, and the rotating assemblies are around 2300..... need to know what a shop would charge (estimate) to install a rotating assembly.

I dare someone to find a better price on a forged bottom end.....http://www.modularperformance.com/m...e=MP&Product_Code=MP100-2100&Category_Code=EK
This is where I got mind. Johns a great guy to deal with too. Not to mention that he didn't have the Mod Max rods in stock at the time, so he upgraded me to the Manleys at no extra cost. I went with 19cc pistons on the '02 PI heads I installed on the '96 shortblock as well.

dss blocks have crapped out on a few people local to me... i dunno if that's what you'd want...

and again local people to me... could be just a fluke

My DSS Block has been great to me. Put down a honest 288rwhp with 80 miles on the block, mild cam, mild tune and no break in.

If I waited about 3-4 months, VT offers to same block with 3 times better customer service! Call those guys up, they will get your the best deal they can!
