I have a new summit racing adjustable clutch quadrant and a firewall adjuster on my car but dont know how to adjust my clutch. Right now I have to put my foot through the clutch pedal and floor board to engage my clutch! How can I adjust the firewall adjuster so that my pedal doesnt have to be completely to the floor to shift gears? It is making shifting gears hard at times. Almost like shifting with the clutch half way engaged or something. Someone please help me out here!

You should turn the adjuster on the firewall counter-clockwise until the clutch completely disengages 2-3 inches from the floor. That is where I like it, but its a matter of personal preference. When you screw it out, it makes the housing longer and the cable tighter. If its all the way out you may have to go to another hook on your quad. HTH.

Thanks for the reply. Shortly after posting my question I went and popped the hood. Started turning the adjuster and that was it. I have it adjusted at about the area you say you prefer yours to be. I guess I should of tried going out to the car 1st before posting a question 1st.

I find my clutch seems to work best with no play at all in the cable. I actually think it has something to do with my driving style more than anything else, but experiment with different settings for fun.

sorryy to highjack the thread, but I have a problem with my clutch height since I got a firewall adjuster kit installed yesterday.

Do you know if going to another hook on the quadrant will make the pedal any lower? My problem is that my clutch pedal is 2-3inches higher than the brake pedal.

The thing that will change your pedal height will be how tightly you adjust the cable. If you are unable to loosen the cable with the adjuster, then going to a hook closer to the firewall will allow you to loosen tension, thus lowering the pedal. I think MM motorsports sells a part that allows pedal height adjustment independant of cable tension.

I have my grabbing about 2 or so inches from the floor. I like it that way. I dont like to let off the clutch almost all the way before it grabs. I cant stand that. Thats how my father in laws porsche grabs and it sucks!
