My stock clutch cable has seem to stretch or something, b/c I am getting a grind going into third gear and it feels like the clutch does not engage until the pedal is 100% down. Therefore I would like to able to adjust it and take care of the problem hopefully. What is the best one to get and who has it cheapest???

Don't buy one unless its Walt's from Pro-Motion. As far as I know, all firewall adjusters besides the pro motion one do not come with a "plate" to prevent fire wall flexing which is an inherent problem with firewall adjasters, the pro motion one does. The whole setup is $139 and can be bought from Pro Motion directly or from some of their distibutors like AFM. It also alows for more air gap which will aid in shifting. I'm buying one here in the next week or so hopefully.

Are you power shifting and missing 3rd?

My T5 kept doing that even after I installed a new Spec and tb. It started to do it in 5th also going from high rpms in 4th. It felt like the syncros and then one day I let the clutch out after shifting to 2nd and "POP"! I lost 2nd and the Tremec was installed. If you beat on a T5 power shifting and miss 3rd a couple of times they will go IMO. However my T5 had 158K hard miles and many track days.

Get the adjuster and triple hook quadrant from steeda through D&D and also order the OEM ford Cable from D&D they have all that in stock. We'll make a trip out there in the next month or so.

I agree with Paul. AFM carries the full set-up as well....very solid set-up. I didn't believe in it till I saw it in person.

also, steeda has the double hook quad., adjustable cable, and the firewall adjuster as a kit for $99.95. Maybe I should just get that. I like steeda for some reason.

I'm very satisfied with my Maximum Motorsports firewall adjuster & quadrant. The adjuster is really-really easy to get to. Their service is great and all of their components I've bought from them have been second to none. Give 'em a call or check out their web-site.

MM has a kit just like the steeda one for $121.36. It also looks like a good package. I wonder which is better??? The steeda looks better.

No I didn't get around to ordering it yet as I've been too busy with work and house stuff to even think about the car. I need to badly as I drove the car earlier this week and when getting onto an on-ramp I nailed it. I thought I was spinning in 2nd, but something didn't feel right and soo I could "smell" why... my clutch is REALLY gone now! I thought I may be able to nurse it through the next couple of weeks, but I don't hink it will last that long. I'm telling you, every single person that runs the pro-motion setup says there is nothing better, and after talking to Walt he sold me on it, it has a lot of well thought out features and such. I HIGHLY suggest not going with some of the other cookie cutter ones out there and getting this that was designed to cure most of if not all of the flaws associated with the others like bushing flex, firewall flex, faster quadrant release ramp rates, 94-95 specific cable that moves the cable closer to the firewall and away from the header (most use a 93-older bracket that puts the cable nclose to the headers), etc.
