I had some conflicting stories, so we started it first at 0 degrees and it was backfiring and running rough. Pulled the dist, set the crank mark at 10, and it ran better, but the motor got up to temp, backfired and quit. The ignition key wont turn the motor over any more, but I can crank it by crossing the solineoid but it still wont start. It does have fire cause I checked but it still wont start, any help here?

Its MSD, I called MSD tech support today

It wouldn`t start and the guy told me to run the power remote wire directly to the battery because he figured it was getting low voltage at the switch. That worked for maybe 10 to 15 minutes run time on the motor, then this.

If the ignition switch went out, and I can still crank it by the silonoid, is there some way it could cause it not to start still? I kinda thought I went around it by running the wire directly to the battery.....
