So, how did I do???

My car: 1996 GT with no engine mods, stock intake, stock H pipe... Pro 5.0 Shifter and 3:73 gears... Kumho Tires SPUN LIKE CRAZY!!!

My fastest time was 14.925 with a 2.182 60 Foot time at 93.09 MPH...

Is this about right for my car??? I have no clue..

ouch 14.9. I would think you could drop another .3 off that for a best run with little better launching. You shouldn't be spinning much at all if you are getting your best 60 ft possible.

Also, what are you shift points? I know with non-PI heads you should be shifting around 500 rpms earlier than with PI heads. Say 5500 range? If someone oculd post a dyno of a stock non-PI head 4.6L i could calculate exactly when optimum shifts are.

with the rear end i say....get dsome DR's so you can hook....also i heard tat the PI heads do some real good improvemnte...altho i dont kno exactly what it consists of or what the difference is with the stock 96 motors

No matter what I did, the car kept spinning the tires.. I fried the hell out of them and they still didn't get sticky enough.. I think the compound sucks on the kumhos.. With the gears, I definately need stickier tires... These tires are brand new. So, I'll wait til I wear them out and gett some Toyo Proxes.. Heard they stuck great and run good on the street also..

My shift points are about 500 RPMs under red line.. Seems like the car starves for power at that point.

I am installing a Mac H-Pipe, 70 MM motorsport throttle body, motorsport plenum with the spacer, getting a custom tuned chip and putting a 180o thermostat in it this weekend.

Could be better. In my 98gt w/ o/r h pipe.flows, and drop in k&n i put down 14.4@95 w/ stock tires 1/8 mile for that run was 9.29. Since i got my nittos I have got down to a 8.90 in the 1/8 so Nect time I go back to the 1/4 i should break into the 13's.

what the hell are PI heads? Are they cheaper than a s/c? I'll get them STAT if they drop me a whole second in the quarter!! I really think the slow quarter mile times is from the crappy tires..

ive been told...PI heads make the SOHC motors into DOHC motors...or something like that...mayb similar head flow with SOHC im not 100% all i kno is its like 99+ rather than 96-98...good for 30-40 rwhp...same torque...for i was told $400-$500 sounds good to me..

Your trap speed is a little low, partially due to your shift points. the turd 4.6L shouldn't really be reved above 5200 for the best results.

I ran [email protected] with crppy stock 2.73 gear midpipe, catback, shifter, pullies and t/a. shifting at 5100-5200.

notice the baseline (blue line) in the dyno, ther hp plummets after that 5300 the hp is as low at 5300 as it is at 4000. At least at 4000 rpm ther motor is making 265lbs. of tourque.

somone told me this before i wen to the track in my 98 and it's the best single shredd of advice i've recieved running my car.

yep that's a non PI motor for ya. no offence taken, it's fact.

not my car but a guy i know who did a PI intake swap onto his turd, gained 15+ hp and quite a bit more after 5200 rpm with the PI intake as yoiu can see.

 I've seen quite a few 96-98 GTs that would whip a LS1's ass. So you shouldn't take it as offense just as you didn't. :nice: I was just amazed, I had never seen a non PI GT dyno pull. :bang:

monkie, i havne't seen too many non-pi heads even in the same realm as an LS1...in fact i've NEVER seen :). Except maybe a supercharged one pushing more boost than you should on a stock engine.
