OMG. the ever so popular track. i felt :barf: when stepping onto the line. I ran my car close to 10 times cause i was so disappointed with my runs. I hit a couple of 16s, with a 17 in there and the following.

FIRST RACE : I raced alone, got there early. Didn't do a burnout like you all said and had a .394 reaction time but my e/t was 16.1 at 89mph(spun when going into second). I had just gotten there from a half an hour drive from my house so thought i had to let it rest.

the following races were just about the same. I raced a Celica, Cougar(a freakin cougar), firebird, camaro and a freaking eclipse, all of which i lost to. my best time in my first runs was as follows
(have my time slips in front of me)

Reaction = .583
E/T = 15.844
MPH = 90.691

half an hour after this run i got this

Reaction = .382
E/T = 15.864
MPH = 90.554

ok so i thought, ***** it, this the best i can get out of it. so i remembered i had not taken my rear seats out and had not iced my intake. So i did and left it for about twenty minutes. I also took some air out of my tires Goodyear Eagles(i think) and started doing burnouts. There was a diesel truck racing and all my friends were telling me to race it and since it was on a thursday, times didn't show up. I didn't want to cause how more embarrassing could it get if I lost. So i go and line up and keep to myself, so then, this freaking diesel pulls up to me and calls me out, I smiled and accepted. :o The guy was pretty cool, and we were talking, I was tellin them about my wonderful night and he was telling me about his. He had run a 15.8 with A FREAKING REACTION TIME OF .094!!!!! I was in disbelief until he showed me his slip and there it was. OK OK, so it was our turn and we raced, this time i did do a burnout and took off. This freaking truck immediately jumped in front by about 2 cars, i just felt my nuts hit the carpet. I got these time from this race.

Reaction = .327
E/T = 15.510
MPH = 91.688
I WON!!!:joy:

I let it rest another 15 minutes and raced again and got this :

Reaction = .536
E/T = 15.559
MPH = 91.282

Could I have done any better I mean I think I can, I've done the following to my Ferrari, I mean Mustang:

Shift Kit and 190 Fuel Pump
Timing at 14*
K&N replacement filter
Gutted trunk
No smog equipment
No sway bar
No stb
No x-brace under the tranny
No rear seats
No plates under the steering column
Have cut offs(with stock exhaust):eek:
No fog lights
Rid of 25lb weight and rear weights in fender & waiting on dogbone

Your times seem about right. I just ran a 15.0 at you same mph but I have a stick. My only mods being a 3.73 and catback. This just calls for more mods.

And LOL on racing the truck. I was lined up next to a deisel in the pits and he told me he ran a 14.8 on his best run. I was so ready to get wooped. But I was at a crappy track that night and got a 15.3 to his 15.8 I was so lucky because I lost my previous race to a motor swapped hatckback civic.

What he said on the reaction time, your time does not start till you leave. You can sit there for 5 seconds then leave and have a 5 second reaction time and make you run with the same time. It does matter if you are racing to see whoever gets to the end 1st, but since this is test & tune no worries.
It would be best to post the whole time slip, especially the 60' times to see where it can be evaluated.

.094???? What kinda tree are you running on? Instant Green?

cause on a .5 tree .5 is perfect and on a pro tree .4 is perfect.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that most up-to-date NHRA tracks have converted over to the .000 tree. Some behind the time NHRA tracks and IHRA tracks still have the .500 tree. I think that's right....

since it was my first time at the track i didn't know this but the 3 yellows would light up and then immediately the green. the 60s time are not on the slip, since it was thursday and it's free racing, i guess they don't bother to time it but it still appears on the slip but w/o anything

some tracks have nights "street night" where they drop instant green and dont show the times...similar to 'street racing' but at the track.

they still drop in .5 increments or whatever the timing was between them but the led lamps light up instantly so there is no delay like there is with incandescents, hence the .000 for LED and .500 for incandescent

Damn man!!! I feel sorry for you with those times.....just another reason why I don't like convertibles. :nonono: Here's what you need: gears(3.73, 3.90, or 4.10), stall(2500+), exhaust(get rid of that stock crap), and some drag radials. With that you'll at least be in the 14s. Oh yeah, and a chip might help too.
