Ok sorry to ask these questions,

but I am going to have DR's when i got to the track saturday
They are BFG dr's 275/40/17 they'll be on the stock bullit wheels.
So I've never driven on them before and also never launched on a sticky tire,
I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice..

What tire pressure will be good for them at the track?

What kind of rpm should, or could i launch at?
How much do i have to worry about the rear end giving out?

I know these are rookie questions, and often asked but I am just trying to get the best out of them...
Thanks......
P.S. How are they on the street also..?

There was excellent article in hotrod a while back about this. I believe they ran the same tires on a bone stock mustang GT. Use 15-20 psi tire pressure, launch at 4000 rpm, do a burout for 10-15 seconds to get them nice and sticky!! they took .2 -.3 off there 60ft! Good luck!!

I run m/t et streets. I used to do a quick burnout for like 5 seconds in 2nd just so they would smoke and I would launch around 4g's. They would screech and hook. That took like .3 off my et's. I then figured out that a nice smoke show burnout for like 10 seconds would allow me to drop the hammer and 5g's and hook great. I run about 15psi in mine, but mine are tubed now. W/18 rims I ran a 14.91, with et streets and a good launch I ran a 14.58. Worth it if you ask me. Good luck, be easy on the rear it doesn't like to be shocked. I think you have a 5 speed so just take it up to 4g's and don't POP the clutch out, but get off it quick. Got it?

I only have about 10 runs with mine, but I found that a 3-5 second burn works best. At the track I go to they don't prep for street nite so I only launch at about 3K by just dropping the clutch and they hook right up. Start at 18 lbs. and work your way down to see what works. 15-16 worked well for mine. With some practice you can launch higher but you will probably need to slip the cluch some to prevent spinning them. They work good, and if they actually prepped the track at NED, they would work even better for me. Like anything else practice makes perfect

I have the nittos not the BFG and i run them at 17psi. I definetly don't hook up from a 4K drop maybe around 3200 or so and they still spin a tad....you just have to test and tune and get the feel for them and your car. Good luck bud

Thanks guys..... I'm just gonna try not to break anything!!!!
probably thinkin I'll launch at 2750-3000ish and give the clutch a quck slip, then hammer it...
I'll try the tires at 25psi to start then go down from there...
So thats my plan to start...We'll see what happens after that...
I know the sidewalls are'nt that big so I dont think it's going to hook like crazy or anything... but I cant wait none the less.. later!

Heat them for 5-7 seconds, run them at 20psi or less, and slip the clucth, you do not drop the clucth on drag radials, they will just break loose. Just make a few runs and see what works, I cut 1.8-1.9 just slipping the clucth at 4k.

With my 315 nittos i didnt not drop a single tenth. I dont know if it was b/c there new or if the track was just to slick? I even tried launching at around 2500. I might be going to a better track tomorrow so ill try again there.
