Just took of the upper and the bolts on the stock VC. When I went to put on the fox VC, I noticed the bolts did NOT reach all the way into the block. When I held the stocker next to the Fox, I noticed the wall on the fox is much thicker, and the bolt goes about 1/4" more through the stock one, allowing it to catch on the block.

For anyone who swapped out, did this happen? Do you just need to get longer bolts, or did you "make it work" ?

Those bolts are impossible to find ( you know the one with the first 1/8" tapered and the built on washer at the top)
Thanks

you sure the bolts are going into the block or is it the head? lol just messin with ya..

I had to buy longer bolts, got them in stainless from a local bolt shop.. Dont remember them being tapered, and don't have to have the built in washer. Juts show them what you have, and tell them to find something about a 1/4" longer.. It's simple

When I say 'tapered', Im referring to the initial portion, like most stock bolts. I have to make a trip to ACE anyway..Ill try there. Mike, did you have to grind anything down when you did yours?

JR...Where the h3ll have you been?? I havent seen you around, and I didnt know you FINISHED the turbo :hail2:

Thanks for the help.

yea I know about the taper, im jsut saying you don't have to have tapered bolts.. The only difference is the tapered thread is a tad easier to get started, because of the taper. No big deal.

I did grind very little on the pass side VC because I assumed the oil filler deal inside the cover would hit the rocker, but it didnt. I ran the nice thick blue rubber gaskets, so maybe thats why? It's really been a while and I've changed so much on the car I can't keep track. But for the most part, I believe they were a bolt on part ith minor modification.

OOPS sorry RC My stock bolts were ****ty so i just replaced them never thought to mention it. Yeah just get some normal bolts and you'll be fine I have normal bolts with regular washers had to retighten them maybe twice but they work.

Hey welcome back JR hows that turbo'd bitch running lol And wheres the new pics?

SEcond Problem - WHoever it was that posted that the nipple was too close to the TB was right. I had to put on the tubing to the filler neck, THEN put the intake back down. HOPEFULLY, I wont need to remove that hose.

Third problem: (pertains to Vortech People)... The rubber boot that holds the connector from the Vortech d/c tube to the TB is in the way of screwing down the oil fill neck cap. As of now I just grinded the diameter of the oil cap down, and so far so good....

As of right this second (12:28 EST) I have the Power Pipe in, the intake and VC/s on, and the spark plug wires changed...IM now going to put on the Vortech and Alt, changed the oil, then hopefully fire it up.
