wow, what a difference, much more compliant and controlled over bumps, due to being tied into the firewall..

seems a little crisper on steering too, but that may be because i've been driving around in a 4 cylinder 86 oldsmobile cutlass cierra custom cruiser wagon all week!! LOL

I've been trying to talk my friends into putting the convertible X-braces on their hardtops. One already has a strut brace(stock) and subframe connectors in his '96 GT. It'd be interesting to see how stiff the car is with the x-brace.

I added a chrome strut tower brace to my car, and while it certainly looks a lot better, honestly I didn't feel a whole lot of difference in the ride. Maybe I should try some 2-wheel cornering and see then??

Red 98 - is it a brace thet ties into the firewall, or just goes between the struts?

i think its because the GT brace ties the struts to the firewall that it made such a difference

Well, I thought I'd just show you how it is, since I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. Please excuse the filthy engine compartment; it's been raining here.. It'll be Q-tip clean in the summer, I promise you that!

is that a stock GT strut brace, or an aftermarket setup?
I just got a '99 vert, and it feels like it rides on pillows and is held together with duct tape. looking for some good ways to stiffen it up a little, and this seems like a good place to start. tia.

Look into full length Sub-frame connectors.
